Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Small tree
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial, Grows in foothills, scrub-jungles
Occurrence : Planted in some parts of West Bengal.

Status : Infrequent
Botanical Character : Erect shrub or small tree. Branches slender, zig-zag, marked with minute raised grey dots. Leaves alternate, bipinnate, stipules hard and spiny. Leaf-rachis downy with minute petiolar gland. Pinnae 4-8 pairs, leaflets 10-20 pairs, sessile, linear oblong, subglabrous, coriaceous. Flowers in globose heads, fragrant, bright yellow, crowded on axillary nodes, bracteate, sessile. Pods subcylindric, turgid, slightly curved. Seeds biseriate, exalbuminous.
