Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Small tree
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial, Grows in dry mixed and scrub-forests between 700-1700m.
Occurrence : Grows along the Terai and Doors belt and some parts of Midnapore

Status : Moderately abundant
Botanical Character : Deciduous tree, growing upto 10 m in height, bark dark greyish brown, young branch pubescent. Leaves bipinnate- pinnae 10-30 pairs, leaflets 20-25 pairs, sessile ciliate, stipules spiny, flattened, hooked; rachis with a large gland near base of petiole and often several glands between pinnae. Flowers small, pale creamy white- in dense pubescent, axillary spikes. Calyx campanulate, villose outside, corolla villose or pubescent. Pods flat, straight, shiny with a triangular beak at the apex, dehiscent. Seeds 3-10 per pod.
