Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Acaulescent rhizom-atous shrub
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial, Xerophyte, wild.
Occurrence : Throughout south-west Bengal (red laterite region)

Status : Inrequent
Botanical Character : Apparently stemless caespitose shrub. Leaves large in rosette tufted, linear -lanceolate, deep green in colour, thick at basse, not constricted above, glaucous, spinously toothed margin. Scapes with very long panicle. Fascicles of flowers rather crowded. Perianth base convex, to some extent dialated; limb abruptly contracted; segments narrowly ligulate wih slightly hooded tip. Stamens 6, style long, stigma faintly lobed; ovary equal or shorter than perianth, slightly broadened upwards.
