Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Small to medium-sized tree
Habitat & Ecology : Terestrial, Grows well in dry, shady places
Occurrence : Planted more or less through out the state

Status : Common
Botanical Character : Tree, young parts often rusty tomentose, rows of lacticiferous sacs in the bark, pith, cortex and leaves. Leaves close on top of branches, alternate, simple, entire, oblong, base cuneate, apex acute. Flowers axillary, small, solitary, usually pendulus, pedunle thickened at top. Sepals in two whorles of 3, ovate, densely hairy. Corolla white, tubular-campanulate, divided almost halfway down into 6 lobes. Stamens 6, staminodes 6 . Fruit- berry, ellipsoid globose or depressed globose, brown. Seeds 4-6, shining black-brown.
