Habit : Erect herb
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial, Wild, grows along roadsides, in gardens and wastelands.
Occurrence : Occurs throughout the state.
Status : Abundant
Botanical Character : Erect annual herb, often gregarious. . Stem branched, angular, finely pubescent. Leaves simple, alternate, long-petioled, rhombic-ovate, acute, serrate, glabrous. Flowers numerous in elongated axillary spkes. Male flowers minute, clustered near apex of spike, ebractreate. Female flowers 3-5 and surrounded by leafy cupular bract. Fruit caspsule minute, 1-seeded, with hispid hairs, concealed by bracts. Seed ovoid, smooth, pale brown.
