Botanical Character : Callistemon lanceolatus is a evergreen shrub or small tree with dark grey, fissured bark. The leaves are simple, alternate and upto 8 cm long. These are lanceolate with prominent vein, midrib and oil gland. Callistemon lanceolatus produces five-stellate flowers that are arranged in cylindrical brush-like spikes. The obvious parts of the flower masses are stamens, with the pollen at the tip of the filament; the petal are inconspicuous. Each flower head produces a profusion of triple-celled seed capsules around a stem.
