Habit : Erect perennial herb
Habitat & Ecology : , Wild, Alpine Himalayan plant. Prefers higher altitude.

Status : Endangered
Botanical Character : Erect leafy herb growing up to 1.5 m in height. Roots paired, tuberous, smooth, whitish or grey. Stem simple or rarely branched from the base, glabrous below and puberulous above. Leaves simple, 5-10 cm in length, sharply toothed but largely heteromorphous; lowest leaves with long (10-12 cm) petioles, usually 5-lobed to the middle and uppermost leaves amplexicaul. Flowers in loose terminal branched spike-like many - flowered racemes. Flowers more than 2.5 cm long, bright blue, greenish blue with purple veins. helmet shortly beaked, half as high as long. Testa smooth, follicles 5, downy. Seeds obpyramidal, blackish brown, smooth.
