Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Tree
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial Wild as well as planted in the plains and the sub-Himalayan tract. ,
Occurrence : Available through out the state upto 1000 m.

Status : Common
Botanical Character : An evergreen tree, around 40-70 ft. high, trunk tall, often fluted and base buttressed; branches whorled, almost horizontal; bark yellow inside and exudes milky latex with bitter taste. Leaves whorled- usually 7, rarely 4-8, entire, elliptic-oblong, very coriaceous, whitish beneath; nerves 30-60 pairs, horizontal, petiole stout, Cymes umbellately branched; peduncle 3-7 cm, very stout; flowers small, subcapitate, greenish- white aromatic. Corolla having villous throat, lobes rounded. Ovary hirsute. Follicles 30-60 cm, pendulous in clusters, terete. Seeds linear, oblong, papillose.
