Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Tree
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial and Wild; grows mostly in deciduous forests and drier regions. ,
Occurrence : Found in major parts of the state upto an altitude of 1500m.

Status : Frequent
Botanical Character : A small to medium sized deciduous tree, bark pale, thick, exuding milky latex. Leaves 15-30 cm by 4-5 cm, shortly petioled elliptic oblong ovate, obtusely acuminate, usually glabrous, pale green; nerves 10-14 pairs, strong. Cymes 3-6 in. diameter, corymbose, sessile, terminal ; bracts small, ciliate ; pedicels slender. Flowers odorous, white or cream coloured, puberulous. Sepals acuminate. Calyx lobes 5. Corolla-tube very slender, 5- lobed, oblong, tips rounded. Follicles 8-16, very slender, parallel, terete, coriaceous, obscurely torulose, usually with small long white spots. Seeds narrowly linear-oblong, brown with tuft of hairs at both ends. "
