Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Annual herb or under shrub.
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial, Wild. Grows well in temperate climatic condition, largely in the sub-Himalayan tract.
Occurrence : Occasionally found along roadsides and waste lands upto 2200 m.

Status : Common
Botanical Character : A tall erect annual aromatic, resinous herb or undershrub. Stem angular. Leaves upper alternate and the lower opposite, upper 1-3- and lower 5-11-partite, serrate, palmatinerved ; stipules lateral. Flowers small, axillary, dioecious, males fascicled in short pendulous panicles ; female crowded under leafy convolute bracts. Male flower sepals 5, imbricate. Stamens 5, erect in bud. Female flower with hyaline perianth, embracing the ovary. Ovary sessile; style central, arms 2 filiform caducous; ovule pendulous. Achene compressed, crustaceous. Seeds light brown to black, smooth, flattened, albumen unilateral fleshy; embryo curved, cotyledons broad thick subequal, radicle upcurved incumbent.
