Plant Characteristics :
Habit : Small tree
Habitat & Ecology : Terrestrial, Grows in well drained soil getting plenty of sunlight in mild climatic condition.
Occurrence : Himalayan foothills upto1300 m.

Status : Infrequent
Botanical Character : A medium-sized, erect, deciduous tree, with moderately stout glabrescent branchlets. Leaves alternate, petiolate, simple, deeply cordate, cleavage runs down the quarter of the length from the apex, the obtuse lobes reaching down, broader, rigidly subcoriaceous. Corymbs lateral, few-flowered, sessile or short-peduncled; bracts minute, deltoid. Calyx tube around 2.5 cm; limb cordate-ovate, remaining to the end spathaceous and entire. Petals 3.7- 5.0 cm long, 2- 3 cm broad, white variegated with red and yellow, sometimes pure white. Stamens 3- 5. Ovary with a long stalk and style and a minute stigma. Pod 15- 30 cm long, 2- 3 cm broad, hard, flat, glabrous, rather decurved, dehiscent, 10- 15- seeded.
